Microparticles
Medicinal systems based on microparticles are of great interest as materials for prolonged release of drugs, both hydrophilic and hydrophobic. They are widely used as antineoplastic, antinarcotic, analgesic agents, as well as therapeutic peptides and proteins, DNA, viruses and bacterial products.
The Company’s specialists have developed methods for microencapsulation of both hydrophilic and hydrophobic drugs for the treatment of various diseases. The techniques allow one to obtain microparticles of a predetermined size in the range from 500 nm to 100 μm with a narrow size distribution and reproducible properties. The regularities of the influence of the composition of the biodegradable copolymer used as a matrix, as well as the parameters of the emulsification process on the release profile of the drug from microparticles, have been established. Methods for the analysis of quality indicators of microparticles have been developed, a pilot plant for the production of microparticles has been created, and preclinical tests have been carried out.
